“What I love most about my country is the same majestically comforting Odyssean awareness of first seeing land long after a tormented spiritual journey.” – Eleni Kostopoulos, Freelance Fashion Writer/Blogger

Why do you choose Greece?

“I’m born and raised Greek and although I frequently find myself fretting over the negative aspects of neo-Greek mentality, I cannot think of myself actually living or working in any other place than Greece. The familiarity of the landscape together with the fragrant Messinian motherland air make it all worth it in the end.”

What do you love most about Greece?

“It’s so difficult to put feelings into words but the idea of “Nostos” as in homecoming is a Greek element so deep-rooted in my psyche that I guess that should be it. So, what I love most about my country is the same majestically comforting Odyssean awareness of first seeing land long after a tormented spiritual journey.”

What would you like for the future of Greece?

“I would hope for Greece to finally become able to embrace both its ancient grandeur and accept its demise. Only then will it be able to be regenerated in its true bright form.”

What is your favourite “secret” in Greece?

“My favourite Greek secret is a place called Methoni in Peloponnese with its spine-chilling Venetian fortress.”
